
Books by LR believes every story deserves a chance to be told. Through the “Write the Future” Fellowship, we aim to nurture local literary talent and strengthen the publishing landscape across Trinidad and Tobago one author at a time.

Books by LR is thrilled to announce the “Write the Future” Book Publishing Grant Fellowship, a new initiative designed to empower first-time authors from Trinidad and Tobago to bring their stories to the world.
This fellowship supports emerging voices who are ready to transform their manuscripts into professionally published books, fiction or non-fiction, while retaining full creative ownership. Only ONE Fellow will be selected.
Grant Details
One selected author will receive a complete publishing package, valued at $25,000, including:
- Professional Editing
- Manuscript Formatting
- Custom Book Cover Design
- ISBN Acquisition
- Publishing of work on Amazon
- First 5 Printed Copies of the book
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
- Citizenship: Must be a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years or older at the time of application.
- First-Time Author: Must be a first-time author — meaning you have not previously published a book (self-published or traditionally published).
- Original Work: Submitted manuscripts must be the applicant’s original work. Manuscripts can be up to 50,000 words.
- Genre: Open to both fiction and non-fiction manuscripts except erotica.
- Copyright Ownership: All copyrights remain with the author. Books by LR will assist with publishing but does not claim ownership of your Intellectual Property.
- Confidentiality: Selected fellow will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to protect both parties during the publishing process.

Application Process
Applicants will be required to submit:
- Proof of citizenship and age (copy of National ID or Passport)
- A synopsis (maximum 300 words) of their manuscript
- The first three chapters or up to 5,000 words
- A brief author bio (maximum 150 words)
Timeline and Responsibilities
Upon initiation of this Grant Agreement, our team will work alongside the Grantee for a period of six (6) months to advance their manuscript from initial draft to publication. The Grantee shall bear sole responsibility for the creation and submission of original written content. Consultations of up to one (1) hour per week shall be made available, as needed, to provide guidance and support toward the satisfactory completion of the project.
